Accessibility statement

We want The Dino Buddies to work for as many families as possible. This page separates what the website supports today from what is still a target for the app, so nothing here overstates where we are.

Last updated:

The website today

  • Keyboard navigation throughout, including a skip-to-content link, menus, dialogs and forms.
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
  • Semantic headings, landmarks and labelled navigation so screen readers can move through pages predictably.
  • Text labels and accessible names on form fields, buttons and icon-only controls.
  • Reduced-motion support: decorative animation is minimized when your device requests reduced motion.
  • Color combinations chosen for readable contrast, with information never carried by color alone.
  • Responsive, scalable layouts that reflow when text is enlarged, from small phones through desktop.
  • Generous touch targets on phones and tablets.

The app — release targets

The app has not been independently audited yet. Everything below is a target we are building and testing against before release, not a completed claim.

  • Screen-reader labels for every interactive element and illustration that carries meaningRelease target
  • Visible focus and clear selection states for switch and keyboard accessRelease target
  • A reduced-motion setting that removes non-essential animationRelease target
  • Contrast levels and text sizes verified against WCAG 2.1 AA guidanceRelease target
  • Layouts that scale with the operating system's larger-text settingsRelease target
  • Touch targets sized for small hands, with forgiving tap areasRelease target
  • Testing on phones and tablets in both portrait and landscape orientationRelease target
  • Audio that can be paused, replayed or muted without losing progressRelease target

Known limits

Some website content includes decorative illustration that is intentionally hidden from screen readers. The printable activity pack is a PDF built from text and simple shapes; it is readable on screen, but it is designed to be printed and completed on paper with an adult nearby.

Tell us what is not working

Accessibility feedback genuinely changes what we build next. Adults can reach us through the support page — choose the "Accessibility" topic and describe the device and setting you were using.
